Wrexham and Flintshire Children's University / Wrecsam a Sir y Fflint

The scheme is managed by Glyndwr University in partnership with the Wrexham & Flintshire Public Service Board. It was developed through the Lifelong Learning sub group of the Wrexham Public Service Board. The goals of the Children’s University mirror those held at Glyndwr University, our partners in the PSB and focus on the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act (2015) Wales.

Accessible Inclusive and Involve

We are passionate advocates for lifelong learning and believe that background and circumstance should not be a barrier to engaging with education. We are dedicated to accessibility, fairness and inclusivity.

Supportive collaborative

We recruit Learning Destinations from across the area to develop a network of possibilities for children and young people. We encourage our Learning Destinations to provide a supportive environment to inspire our members to achieve their learning, volunteering and career goals.

Innovative and integrate

We recognise that our success is dependent upon the collective energy, intelligence and creativity of the wider community. We actively encourage new perspectives and engagement with communities and partners, shaping new learning opportunities together.

Ambitious for the long term

We are unashamedly ambitious for our Children’s University members, their families and our communities. We recognise that there are no limits to learning and knowledge and we challenge people to embrace their aspirations and succeed through education

The Children’s University also enables children and young people to develop towards the four purposes of the new, Curriculum for Wales, We support our learners to become;

• ambitious, capable learners, ready to learn throughout their lives
• enterprising, creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work
• ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world
• healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.

Wrexham & Flintshire Children’s University  started working with the Children’s University Trust in 2021, hosting a pilot for a number of school children in Wrexham and Flintshire, to participate in the scheme. The pilot will run from September 2021 to April 2022. Following the pilot, the team will be working hard to roll out the scheme to schools across both counties. More details will be available towards the end of 2021.

Rydym yn recriwtio Cyrchfannau Dysgu o bob rhan o’r ardal i ddatblygu rhwydwaith o bosibiliadau ar gyfer plant a phobl ifanc. Rydym yn annog ein Cyrchfannau Dysgu i ddarparu amgylchedd cefnogol i ysbrydoli ein haelodau i gyflawni eu nodau dysgu, gwirfoddoli a gyrfa.

Arloesol ac yn integreiddio

Rydym yn cydnabod bod ein llwyddiant yn dibynnu ar egni, deallusrwydd a chreadigrwydd cyfunol y gymuned ehangach. Rydym yn mynd ati i annog safbwyntiau newydd ac i ymgysylltu â chymunedau a phartneriaid, gan siapio cyfleoedd dysgu newydd gyda’n gilydd.

Uchelgeisiol ar gyfer y tymor hir

Rydym yn uchelgeisiol iawn dros ein haelodau Prifysgol y Plant, eu teuluoedd a’n cymunedau. Rydym yn cydnabod nad oes unrhyw derfynau i ddysgu a gwybodaeth ac rydym yn herio pobl i gofleidio eu dyheadau a llwyddo trwy addysg

Mae Prifysgol y Plant hefyd yn galluogi plant a phobl ifanc i ddatblygu tuag at bedwar pwrpas y Cwricwlwm i Gymru newydd, rydym yn cefnogi ein dysgwyr i ddod yn;

• ddysgwyr uchelgeisiol, galluog sy'n barod i ddysgu gydol eu bywydau
• gyfranwyr mentrus, creadigol sy’n barod i chwarae rhan lawn mewn bywyd a gwaith
• ddinasyddion egwyddorol, gwybodus yng Nghymru a’r byd
• unigolion iach, hyderus sy'n barod i fyw bywyd cyflawn fel aelodau gwerthfawr o gymdeithas.

Dechreuodd Prifysgol y plant Wrecsam weithio gydag Ymddiriedolaeth Prifysgol y Plant yn 2021, gan gynnal peilot i nifer o blant ysgol yn Wrecsam a Sir y Fflint, i gymryd rhan yn y cynllun.

Cynhelir y peilot o fis Medi 2021 i fis Ebrill 2022. Yn dilyn y peilot, bydd y tîm yn gweithio’n galed i drosglwyddo’r cynllun i ysgolion ledled y ddwy sir. Bydd mwy o fanylion ar gael tuag at ddiwedd 2021.
